During the Kilauea eruption of 2017, It was the only place in the world, where lava met the Ocean.
Pele(Pele is the fire/lava goddess of Hawaii) was making the Big Island even bigger. It was amazing to witness the creation of the Earth. Non-stop lava kept flowing into the ocean. Its very hard to explain the feeling of being there. The powerful energy and hot, melting lava were like a waterfall, forming the Earth. It was the most incredible scene I had ever experienced..
The Lava flow completely stopped sometime in September/October of 2018 in the Kalapana area.
