#7 Australia Trip May 2024 Last day of Western Australia

Day 11 Last day of Western Australia and leaving to Melbourne

Since my second sea lion tour was canceled, I had a lot of time this morning before heading to the airport. I decided to stop by Wedge Island Point, a white sand beach that a few people had recommended to me.

While following the GPS, I started to wonder if the road was okay for a 2WD vehicle—maybe I needed a 4WD? I actually got stuck in the sand for a bit, but I managed to get out. When I was flying my drone, some locals came over to talk to me. They told me that you can get there with a 2WD, and many people do, because the sand isn’t too thick. However, it’s not really recommended.

Would I go with a 2WD again? Yes, I would, now that I know the route but I’ll definitely choose to drive an SUV again.

It was incredibly beautiful. Miles of white sand beach and turquoise ocean stretched out. I could have spent the whole day there, just rolling around on the white sand. I wished Waimea and Maui were with me; I could easily live here with my guard doggies. I miss them.

I wish I could took better drone shots.

After my exciting little adventure, I’m heading to Perth Airport to catch a flight to Melbourne, which is on the other side of Australia.

Jetstar and Qantas flights were almost the same price, so I chose to fly with Qantas. I was pleasantly surprised when we received complimentary meals, drinks, and wine during the three-and-a-half-hour flight. And just before landing, we were treated to ice cream! It was such a nice touch. Also, unlike JetStar, Qantas provided USB charging ports on the domestic flight, as well as onboard wifi! You’re the best, Qantas!!
